Blooming hangovers...

During a weekend away in Blackpool and after a rather messy Friday night, my mate Sean and I managed to drag ourselves out of bed (seperate beds you understand) and head to Blackpool's ground, Bloomfield Road, for a look around.  With Blackpool playing away at Arsenal and Sean and I not particularly facing the delights of Blackpool Pleasure Beach we'd made plans to go to nearby Preston's game with Portsmouth later in the day (more on that here).  We were literally staying across the road from Blackpool's stadium in a pretty ropey Travelodge, so it wasn't much of an effort for us to nip over, check out the club shop and have a walk about the ground.

We didn't expect to be able to actually get into the ground, however, as building work is ongoing, we were able to sneak in via one of the corner, have a brief chat with some builders and take a couple of photos.  We even met a couple of Northern Irish lads who clearly had the same idea as us.  The builders didn't seem at all concerned by our presence!

It was a good opportunity to see the Premier League's latest ground and it succeeded in taking our minds off our horrific hangovers for a few minutes!

The Bloomfield Road pitch looked in good condition ahead of it's first game of the season

It was certainly in better condition that the big Shetlander was on Saturday morning

I myself wasn't in particularly great shape either

  1. Was the Irn Bru brought or bought?

Either way good effort on getting in!
