First Post

First post of the new blog.  I've written a previous one (which I have no intention of telling you about), that managed to attract a handful of followers so I do have some very amateur 'previous'.  It was also about football, however, I felt I was ranting too much about my own club of choice (Hearts - there's always plenty to rant about) and so with this blog I intended to take a step back, be mellow and write more about football in general.  

I also intend to occasionally comment on other sporting events that catch my eye so be prepared for the odd piece on boxing or whatever else.  

I'm hoping to use this page to react to football news but not necessarily with reference to the biggest teams, I always think there's often equally if not more interesting stories to be found elsewhere.

That said, you can expect a fair few posts about the World Cup.
